The Vendor Who Fed My Whole Family During a Beach Emergency
A customer shares how a quick-thinking vendor on Aki went beyond the app to help a stranded family on a remote beach in Santa Catarina.

Last March, my family got stranded on Praia do Rosa in Santa Catarina. Our car had a flat tire, it was getting dark, we had a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old who hadn't eaten since noon. The nearest restaurant was 4km away.
The App to the Rescue
My husband opened Aki and found a vendor — Lúcia — who was still active on the beach despite the late hour. She had snacks, fruit, sandwiches, and cold drinks. We messaged her through the app explaining our situation.
She not only brought us food — she walked over herself with a bag of homemade pão de queijo that she'd been saving for a family reunion. She refused to charge us extra for the inconvenience and sat with us for 20 minutes while the kids ate.
More Than a Transaction
We've been back to Praia do Rosa twice since then, specifically to visit Lúcia's stand. We always order in advance through Aki so she knows to expect us. We've brought friends who are now regular customers too.
Aki connects you to vendors. But sometimes it connects you to people.
